Hello and welcome to our little urban paradise!
We are Bob and Heather Butler and we live in an old row house that was built in 1885. Our home originally had a tiny back yard, and we decided to expand! We live in a very rough part of our town, in a very crime infested area with poor native soil, and neighbors in close proximity. As time passes by, and neighboring homes have been burnt down, drug dens have been shut down, and vacant half-burned homes become a memory only… we began purchasing our neighboring properties and growing fresh and healthy soil. This has become our passion and we are working hard to make our neighborhood a better place for everyone.
What started as a little hobby has progressed into a full lifestyle shift for our little family. Our side yard is now a thriving annual garden with perennials peppered in. The side lots we purchased are transforming into a growing permaculture food forest. Our front yard is being transformed from grass, to food production and pollinator habitat.
Each growing season, we add more diversity to our growing food forest and each year we look at additional properties that are adjoining with our home. We are always in search of more ways to increase our yields, and continue restoring soil health while helping nourish others with the surplus we are able to provide.
